  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cherries
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar for serving

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the cherries and sliced almonds.

  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool, then sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
