Ingredients
  

Cake Layers
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix Prepare according to package instructions.
  • 1 box vanilla ice cream Softened.
  • 1 container whipped topping For frosting.
  • 1 cup chocolate fudge sauce For layering and topping.
Decorations
  • 1 cup chocolate shavings For garnish.
  • 1 cup sprinkles Optional for decoration.

Method
 

Prepare the Cake
  1. Bake the chocolate cake according to package instructions in a 9-inch round cake pan. Allow to cool completely.
Layer the Ice Cream
  1. Once the cake is cooled, slice it in half horizontally to create two layers.
  2. Place the bottom layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of softened vanilla ice cream on top.
  3. Drizzle some chocolate fudge sauce over the ice cream.
  4. Place the top layer of cake on the ice cream and press down gently.
  5. Spread more vanilla ice cream on top of the cake layer and smooth it out.
Frost and Decorate
  1. Frost the entire cake with whipped topping.
  2. Drizzle additional chocolate fudge sauce on top and sprinkle with chocolate shavings and sprinkles if desired.
Freeze and Serve
  1. Freeze the cake for at least 2 hours to set before serving.
