- In a bowl, mix warm milk with sugar, then sprinkle yeast on top and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add yeast mixture and softened butter; mix until shaggy dough forms.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down gently, shape into a loaf, place in greased loaf pan, cover again, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for about 30 minutes or until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Store any leftover Milk Bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. For longer storage, freeze slices wrapped in plastic and reheat in a toaster or oven.
