Ingredients
  

Chicken Marinade
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Sandwich Assembly
  • 4 slices sandwich bread your choice
  • 4 slices cheese optional, e.g., cheddar or Swiss
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise optional

Method
 

Marinate the Chicken
  1. In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Add chicken breasts and coat well. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Grill the Chicken
  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the marinated chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
Assemble the Sandwich
  1. Toast the bread slices on the grill for 1-2 minutes. Layer lettuce, grilled chicken, cheese, and tomato on one slice of bread. Spread mayonnaise on the other slice and close the sandwich.
Serve
  1. Cut the sandwich in half and serve immediately with your favorite side.
