Ingredients
  

Ribs
  • 2 pounds pork ribs baby back or spare ribs
Dry Rub
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional for heat
Barbecue Sauce
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce your favorite brand

Method
 

Prepare the Ribs
  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor and tenderness.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine all dry rub ingredients and mix well.
  4. Rub the dry mixture generously over both sides of the ribs.
Bake the Ribs
  1. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, meat side up.
  2. Cover the ribs tightly with another piece of aluminum foil.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until tender.
Glaze and Finish
  1. Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil.
  2. Brush the barbecue sauce over the ribs.
  3. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, for an additional 30 minutes.
  4. Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the ribs in the dry rub overnight in the refrigerator.
