Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 12 oz spaghetti
Meat Sauce
  • 1 lb ground beef preferably lean
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes 28 oz
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup water
Garnish
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese for serving
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Method
 

Cook Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare Meat Sauce
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and water. Bring to a simmer and let cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Combine and Serve
  1. Add the cooked spaghetti to the meat sauce and toss to combine. Serve hot, garnished with Parmesan cheese and parsley.

Notes
