Ingredients
  

Mushrooms
  • 4 pieces Portabella mushrooms stems removed
Marinade
  • 1/4 cup Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
Toppings
  • 4 slices Cheese optional, such as Swiss or cheddar
  • 1 cup Lettuce shredded
  • 1 tomato Tomato sliced
  • 1/2 cup Red onion sliced
  • 4 pieces Burger buns toasted
Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Hot sauce optional

Method
 

Prepare the Marinade
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
Marinate the Mushrooms
  1. Place the portabella mushrooms in the marinade and let them soak for at least 15 minutes.
Grill the Mushrooms
  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the marinated mushrooms for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until tender.
Prepare the Sauce
  1. In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and hot sauce until well combined.
Assemble the Burgers
  1. On each toasted burger bun, spread a layer of sauce, add the grilled mushroom, and top with lettuce, tomato, onion, and cheese if desired.
