Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar divided
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch for thickening
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, 3/4 cup of sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract. Toss to coat the strawberries evenly.
  3. Pour the strawberry mixture into a greased baking dish.
Make the Topping
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, 1/4 cup sugar, and salt.
  2. Stir in the milk and melted butter until just combined.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of the batter over the strawberry filling.
Bake the Cobbler
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  2. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
