Ingredients
  

Tuna Salad
  • 2 cans tuna drained
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise adjust to taste
  • 1 stalk celery finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper to taste
Sandwich Assembly
  • 8 slices bread whole grain or white
  • 4 leaves lettuce for garnish
  • 1 tomato sliced optional

Method
 

Prepare Tuna Salad
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, chopped celery, chopped red onion, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Mix well using a fork until all ingredients are combined.
  2. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Assemble Sandwiches
  1. Lay out 4 slices of bread on a clean surface.
  2. Spread a generous amount of the tuna salad mixture onto each slice of bread.
  3. Top with lettuce leaves and sliced tomatoes if desired, then place the remaining slices of bread on top to complete the sandwiches.
  4. Cut the sandwiches in half and serve immediately.
