Ingredients
  

Salad Ingredients
  • 1 head romaine lettuce washed and torn into pieces
  • 4 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1/4 cup red onion thinly sliced
Dressing Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons bacon grease rendered from cooked bacon
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste

Method
 

Prepare the Salad
  1. In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and crumble, reserving the grease.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the lettuce, cherry tomatoes, red onion, and crumbled bacon.
Make the Dressing
  1. In the same skillet, add the reserved bacon grease over low heat.
  2. Whisk in the apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Combine and Serve
  1. Pour the warm dressing over the salad and toss gently to wilt the lettuce slightly.
  2. Serve immediately while warm.
